Volunteer

We need your help to make the annual Johnson City Omnium bicycle race safe. Bicycle racing is a growing sport and the professionals in this race have gone on to compete in the Tour de France.

As a volunteer, you would be responsible to control/flag traffic as the racers go through the intersection during the races.

There are four separate opportunities on Saturday June 3 and Sunday June 4.

  • Saturday June 3 from 8:00am to 12:00 in Carter County we need 12 road marshals at six intersections.
  • Saturday June 3 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm in Unicoi County on Temple Hill road, we need 10 road marshals at 10 connecting side roads.
  • Sunday June 4 from 7:30am to 12:00am we need 12 marshals to control pedestrian traffic during the races in Downtown Johnson City during the Blue Plum Sunday. Free lunch included
  • Sunday June 4 from 12:00am to 5:00pm we need 12 marshals to control pedestrian traffic during the races in Downtown Johnson City. Free lunch included

To participate you must have a valid drivers license. Contact Reneau Dubberley by May 20 with your preferred shift, name, e-mail address and telephone number at director@jcomnium.com or 423-926-8228.
